The MU Language Centre is opening a Czech language course for foreign MU staff. The course is aimed at foreign Masaryk University employees at A1/1 level. The applicants who did not participate in the previous course will take an entrance test.

Course prerequisites:

Students should be familiar with the following topics: units 1–7 from Čeština expres 1 by Lída Holá and Pavla Bořilová, specifically: pronunciation rules, greetings, formal and informal dialogues, introduction of oneself, numbers 0-1000, verbs in present tense, orientation in the town, positions and directions, grammatical gender, food and drinks, how to order in the restaurant, my family, possessive pronouns, arranging a meeting, time expressions, modal verbs, expressing liking, speaking and asking about places. 

Learning outcomes:

Students will get familiar with the following topics: future tense, prepositions, writing an email, house and apartment, genitive singular, nominative and accusative plural, travelling, motion verbs, human body, speaking at the doctor’s. Students will understand the basics of the Czech language system, although the focus will be mainly on speaking and using the language in practice and the communication in everyday as well as in the academic environment.

MU Language Centre, Komenského nám. 2 or online, depending on the current governmental restrictions.
