The course will be taught in-person if the epidemiologic situation in Czech Republic allows in-person teaching. If the government restrictions change and in-person classes will not be allowed, please be aware that the course automatically switches into online mode without a possibility of reimbursement. 

COURSE DESCRIPTION
This is a course for intermediate beginners of Chinese. Some basic understanding of the language assumed (though not necessary). The course is taught in English.  

MATERIAL
Lesson 4-6 in Integrated Chinese (Level 1, Part 1) 

COURSE OBJECTIVES
After the course, students will be able to:  

• Identify and comprehend conversation situations and reproduce conversation schemes in basic conversation situations given by the textbook  
• Apply the conversation schemes and acquired vocabulary to other interactive conversation situations 
• Read and write basic conversation texts given in the textbook 
• Apply acquired grammar, vocabulary and increase necessary reading and writing comprehension 

TENTATIVE SCHEDULE

• Week 1: Review of Lesson 1-3 in ICL1P1 
• Week 2: In the restaurant: Colors and clothes  

• Week 3: In the restaurant: Food and how to order in a restaurant  
• Week 4: In the restaurant: Grammar: Verb+bù+Verb.   
• Week 5: In a shop: Grammar: Verb+le   
• Week 6: In a shop: How to ask “why” and answer.   
• Week 7: In a shop: How to say “if”  
• Week 8: On the street: How to take train and ask road  
• Week 9: On the street: Approximation in Chinese.  
• Week 10: On the street: Ordinal number in Chinese  
• Week 11: Making a phone call 
• Week 12: Wrap up and final test. Students who passed the test will receive a certificate.
