Cancellation policy
Intensive Czech Courses for Foreigners
Online courses:
- The student as a consumer is entitled to withdraw from the contract without stating a reason within 14 days after the conclusion of the contract. If the contract is concluded later than 14 days before the start of the course, the student shall not be entitled to withdraw from the contract. The moment of creating the order for the course in the MUNI Shopping Centre is considered the moment of concluding the contract.
- MUNI is entitled to withdraw from this contract in case there are less than 6 applicants to the course. In such case, MUNI shall refund the entire price of the course, if paid before the withdrawal, to the student’s bank account.
In-person courses:
- The student as a consumer is entitled to withdraw from the contract without stating a reason within 14 days after the conclusion of the contract. If the contract is concluded later than 14 days before the start of the course, the student shall not be entitled to withdraw from the contract. The moment of payment for the course in the MUNI Shopping Centre is considered the moment of concluding the contract.
- If the student does not receive a visa or an extension of visa for in-person study of the intensive course of Czech by the start date of the course or if the student cannot participate in the course in person, he/she shall be obliged to take the course online, including the final examination. The student is allowed to join the in-person study during the course if the situation allows (the visa is granted etc).
- If the student who takes part in the in-person form of the course fails to actively participate in the course and his/her attendance is lower than 70%, he/she shall be sent 2 notification e-mails at the most. If he/she does not increase his/her attendance to the required 70% even after being sent the e-mails, MUNI shall report the situation to the Foreign Police.
- In case the epidemic situation (Covid-19) gets worse, and the competent authorities order remote online instruction, MUNI shall ensure a smooth transition from the in-person form to the online form of instruction. The transition to another form of instruction shall not constitute a reason for the refund of the course fee.
Summer schools
- The Client as a consumer is entitled to withdraw from the Contract without stating a reason within 14 days after the conclusion of the Contract. If the Contract is concluded 30 and less days before the start of the Summer School, the Client is not entitled to withdraw from the order under the provision of Section 1837(j) of the Civil Code.
- The moment of confirming the Client’s order through the MUNI Shopping Centre is considered the moment of concluding the Contract.
- If the Client who needs a visa for the stay in the Czech Republic is not granted the visa before the start of the Summer School, he/she may withdraw from the Contract, however, no later than 30 days before the start of the Summer School. The notice of withdrawal shall be sent to the email address koordinator@cjv.muni.cz and it must be attached a proof of the visa refusal. In the case of withdrawal due to the visa refusal, MUNI shall refund 85% of the course price to the Client’s bank account.
- In case the Client cannot participate in the Summer School due to health reasons, he/she is entitled to withdraw from the Contract while attaching the confirmation of the illness. In the case of withdrawal due to health reasons and the deadline is met, MUNI shall refund 85% of the course price to the Client’s bank account. If the Client cancels the application later, he/she shall not be entitled to the refund of the course fee except for COVID-19, whereas the confirmation of COVID-19 must be attached.
- In case the competent authorities of the Czech Republic order remote online instruction before or during the Summer School, MUNI shall ensure a smooth transition from the in-person form to the online form of instruction. The transition to another form of instruction shall not constitute a reason for the refund of the course fee and the course participants shall take the course online.
- The Client must pay the course fee in full by the date specified in the instructions for the summer school.
- Protective measures COVID 19: Participants to the Summer Schools organized by the Language Centre must comply with the applicable protective measures governing the rules for entering the Czech Republic – see: https://koronavirus.mzcr.cz/en.
- Summer School participants are advised to conclude travel insurance to cover the cost of accommodation and travel changes in the event of illness (e.g. COVID-19 etc.). If a participant becomes ill after the end of the Summer School, MUNI shall help to arrange accommodation for the participant after the end of the Summer School; however, the participant shall bear all costs.
- MUNI is entitled to withdraw from the Contract in case there are less than 7 applicants to the Summer School. In such case, MUNI shall refund the entire price of the Summer School, if paid before the withdrawal, to the Client’s bank account. In such case, the Client is not entitled to any other compensation.
