EPSULA Conference: Learning from, protecting and supporting cultural difference

From June 17-19, 2025, the historic city of Cuenca, Ecuador, will be the setting for the prestigious EPSULA conference, an international event dedicated to the preservation of cultural heritage as a key tool for the empowerment of communities.
Under the motto "Learning from, protecting and supporting cultural difference", this meeting brings together leading academics, community leaders, international organizations and key civil society actors in a joint effort to safeguard and value the cultural expressions of Ecuador and El Salvador.
EPSULA 2025 will offer a unique space for in-depth reflection, the exchange of experiences and the formulation of sustainable strategies that promote the protection of ancestral traditions and knowledge. With a special focus on promoting cultural diversity as a driver of human development, the conferences will feature a high-level program that includes keynote presentations.
The event is free for public.
Call for Papers – EPSULA
EPSULA invites researchers, academics and experts to submit their proposals for papers to participate in our conferences, focused on indigenous cultures and traditions.
- Topic: Papers related to the central theme of the event will be accepted, addressing cultural, social, historical or heritage perspectives of indigenous peoples.
- Format: Each presentation will last 25 minutes, followed by 5 minutes for questions. A summary of the paper must be submitted with a maximum length of 200 words.The document must include: title of the paper, author(s), institutional affiliation and contact email.Submission of proposals:Interested parties must send their proposals to: Conferencias.epsula@uazuay.edu.ec before May 12, 2025.
