MU Language Centre is running a practice week for excellent postdoctoral researchers in April. The Teaching Practice Week (TPW) for Max Weber Programme Fellows will take place at the MU Language Centre during the week 8-12 April 2019. It will involve 7 fellows, who will practice their presentation skills while giving lectures related to their research and work. Fellows can attend the TPW few times a year. After April meeting in Brno, next TPW in 2019 will take place in London and Barcelona. MU Language Centre is running TPW for the second time.
What is Max Weber Programme?
The
Max Weber Programme (MWP) at the European University Institute (EUI) is the largest and most innovative postdoctoral programme in the historical and social sciences in Europe and it is open to postdoctoral fellows from anywhere in the world. The Programme is among the most selective – attracting circa 1200 applicants each year – in the fields of political and social sciences, economics, law and history for some 55-60 Fellowships. What does the Teaching Practice Week offer?
- Workshop for presenting, discussing and, as far a necessary, revising the lesson plans with the mentors and further members of the Language Centre (two 90-minute teaching sessions for each Fellow);
- detailed feedback from at least two members of the Language Centre on each teaching session;
- interim session with all fellows reviewing their first teaching sessions;
- a round-up assessment session of the Teaching Practice Week full technical support.
